A special lecture on “Mother Language Punjabi: Importance and Future” to mark International Mother Language Day by Faculty of Arts & languages

On February 21, 2025, the Punjabi Department at Trinity College, Jalandhar, organized a special lecture on “Mother Language Punjabi: Importance and Future” to mark International Mother Language Day. Prof. Ashok Kumar welcomed the attendees, and Dr. Surinder Pal Mand from Lyallpur Khalsa College delivered an insightful talk on the significance of Punjabi. Principal Dr. Ajay Parashar encouraged the audience to take pride in their mother tongue. The event also featured an essay writing and quiz competition, with winners receiving medals and certificates. Dr. Malkiat Singh expressed gratitude to all participants, and the program concluded with the National Anthem. Additionally, under the guidance of Assistant Professors Rupinder Kaur and Navdeep Nahar, students joined a rally organized by Punjab Jagriti Manch in Jalandhar.
