PG Department of Commerce

Established in 2004, the PG Department of Commerce is committed to delivering high-quality, career-oriented education that bridges the gap between academic theory and real-world business practice. The department focuses on developing competent, confident, and socially responsible professionals equipped to meet the evolving demands of the commerce and finance sectors. The department has entered into Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with leading industries, banks, and Chartered Accountant firms. These collaborations strengthen experiential learning through internships, live projects, industry visits, workshops, and case-based teaching, enabling students to apply classroom concepts to real business challenges. A key highlight of the department is the “Earn While You Learn” program, which offers students part-time opportunities in banks, CA firms, startups, and corporate finance departments. This initiative allows students to gain practical exposure, professional skills, and financial support while continuing their academic journey. Graduates of the department leave with more than just degrees — they acquire job-ready skills, analytical thinking, and professional confidence. Alumni have successfully built careers as Chartered Accountants, investment analysts, bank officers, academicians, entrepreneurs, and responsible leaders contributing to society. The department also supports meritorious and deserving students through scholarships aimed at promoting excellence in core areas of commerce, including Accountancy, Law, Management, and Research.
