The Annual Report 2024–25 of Trinity College, Jalandhar reflects the vibrant journey we have undertaken over the past academic year. Trinity College, Jalandhar, founded with the noble vision of imparting quality education, continues to stand as a pillar of academic excellence, discipline, and innovation. Situated in the heart of Jalandhar, the college has grown into a premier institution committed to nurturing minds with knowledge, skills, and values. Known for its inclusive environment and student-centric approach, Trinity provides a vibrant platform for holistic development through a well-blended mix of curricular, co-curricular, and extracurricular initiatives.

With a strong emphasis on research, innovation, and employability, the college consistently adapts to educational advancements and technological shifts. It strives to empower students to meet the challenges of the global world while staying rooted in ethical and social responsibilities. The dedicated faculty, robust infrastructure, and active student community have helped the institution evolve as a centre of excellence. The 2024–25 academic year has been another remarkable chapter marked by achievements in academics, research, student success, and community engagement.


Academic Blueprint: Curricular Aspects

The foundation of any academic institution lies in the strength and relevance of its curriculum. Here, we strive to provide a dynamic and inclusive curriculum that not only meets the demands of academic excellence but also nurtures holistic development. Our programs are regularly updated in line with the guidelines of the affiliating university and feedback from stakeholders including students, alumni, industry experts, and faculty members. Emphasis is laid on both theoretical and practical learning, with a focus on building competencies required in the real world.

In addition to core academics, we aim to enhance student employability and personal growth through the introduction of various value-added and skill-based courses. Our commitment remains firm towards preparing students to meet global standards and future challenges.

During the academic year 2024–25, the college offered 7 undergraduate, 2 postgraduate and 2 diploma programs across disciplines such as Arts, Science, Commerce, Computer Applications and skill development programs.

The college conducted 25 value-added and short term courses this year, focusing on areas like life skills, professional ethics, human & spiritual values, soft skills, language proficiency, cosmetology, computer applications, data analytics, hardware maintenance etc, over 472 students successfully completed these courses, earning additional certifications that complement their regular degrees. Feedback reports show that 76.3% of students found these courses helpful in enhancing their employability and communication skills.

  • Diksha from Diploma in Cosmetology bagged 2nd position in University.
  • Shally and Kajal secured 5th, Prabhdeep and Alisha secured 6th and Alisha secured 7th position in University in Diploma in Computer Applications.
  • Priya from BA-III got merit position in University
  • Daksh NSS volunteer from BA-III participated in Republic Day Parade (RDC) 2025 at New Delhi.
  • Renu from M.Com.-I bagged State level gold medal in chess in Punjab Khed Mela
  • Arman Khanna from M.Com.-I is national level winner in Film Art Fest and bagged more than 15 Inter College awards.

From Chalk to Cloud: Teaching-Learning Process

At Trinity College, Jalandhar, the teaching-learning process is rooted in academic excellence, innovation, and student-centric approaches. Our faculty adopts a blended mode of teaching that combines traditional classroom instruction with modern pedagogical tools, including ICT-enabled learning, flipped classrooms, and project-based teaching. Regular academic audits, peer reviews, and feedback mechanisms help in continuously enhancing the quality of instruction.

To promote critical thinking, creativity, and real-world problem-solving, we have integrated outcome-based education practices across all disciplines. Active learner engagement is ensured through assignments, presentations, group discussions, and participative classroom activities.

A total of 11 guest lectures were organized across departments, featuring experts from academia and industry to bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and real-world applications. To enhance industry interface, 2 industrial visits were conducted, benefiting over 50 students with practical exposure. Furthermore, over 21 students underwent internships in reputed firms, NGOs, and startups, gaining valuable hands-on experience. These initiatives reflect our commitment to experiential learning and holistic education.

From Curiosity to Creation: Research and Innovation

Research is the backbone of academic excellence and a driver of societal progress. At Trinity College, Jalandhar, we foster a culture of curiosity, critical thinking, and innovation. Our faculty and students are encouraged to explore, question, and contribute meaningfully to their disciplines. This year, research has moved beyond classrooms—into labs, fieldwork, and collaborative networks. The college boasts 6 PhD-qualified faculties and 9 currently pursuing their PhDs. A total of 8 research papers were published in reputed UGC and peer-reviewed journals, while 7 book chapters were published by our faculty. Faculty presented 17 research papers at various national and international conferences. The institution submitted 5 research project proposals, of which two was successfully granted funding worth Rs 52,000/- and Rs 18,000/- from DBT and other agencies. Two faculty members received awards and recognitions from academic bodies for their outstanding contributions. The college also signed 6 new MoUs with universities, industries, and research institutions to promote collaborative research, internships, and academic exchange. These achievements reflect our sustained commitment to academic excellence and innovation.

Building Bridges for Student Success: STUDENT SUPPORT

At Trinity College, Jalandhar, student support is not just a system—it's a continuous commitment to nurturing potential at every step of the academic journey. We believe that real progress happens when students are empowered both inside and outside the classroom. From structured induction to skill-building programs, cultural exposure, and career mentoring, we provide a 360-degree ecosystem for holistic growth. Our student-centered initiatives are designed to foster confidence, creativity, and a strong sense of purpose. This year, 4 Student Development Programs (SDPs) were conducted, focusing on communication, leadership, digital literacy, and personality enhancement, benefiting over 160 students and laying the foundation for professional readiness. These programs worked in synergy with the efforts of our 23 active student cells and clubs including NSS, NCC, Anti-Ragging, Anti-Harassment Cells, Cultural and Sports Committees, Library and Departmental Clubs, which together organized 76 activities that promoted social awareness, ethics, and discipline while cultivating creativity and critical thinking. Participation in these platforms empowered our students to confidently compete externally, resulting in 41 students securing accolades in inter-college and state-level sports, cultural, and academic events. To further nurture their talent on campus, the college hosted 15 major sports and cultural events, such as the Annual Athletic Meet, Cultural Fest, and Inter-Departmental Competitions, involving over 235 students and fostering a spirit of healthy competition, collaboration, and self-expression. Academic guidance and mentoring also bore fruit, with 2 students successfully clearing prestigious competitive exams like UGC-NET, CA Foundation, SSC, and banking services, demonstrating the impact of our academic rigor and support frameworks. Complementing this, the Training & Placement Cell ensured that 8 students secured campus placements in leading companies including Piramal Finance, ICICI Bank, Smart Solutions, and 75% of the outgoing students successfully got placed or progressed to higher education.

Back to Give, Forward to Grow: Alumni Engagement & Contribution

Our ever-supportive alumni community further enriched the ecosystem by contributing funds towards scholarships, donated books for the needy students, welfare activities, and conducting career mentorship sessions that bridged the gap between academia and industry. Collectively, these interwoven efforts represent Trinity’s unwavering commitment to nurturing not just academically strong graduates, but empowered, future-ready citizens.

Foundations of Excellence: INFRASTRUCTURE

Trinity College, Jalandhar continues to strengthen its academic environment through robust infrastructure that supports learning, creativity, inclusivity, and well-being. Our well-ventilated classrooms, including 6 fully equipped smart classrooms, provide an engaging, tech-enabled atmosphere that encourages interactive learning. The integration of ICT tools and 5 Computer labs over 150 computers ensures that students gain hands-on digital proficiency aligned with today’s academic and industry standards. The college library serves as a vital academic resource, housing a rich collection of 12,584 books across various disciplines. It offers a quiet, student-friendly environment with access to reference materials, journals, and digital resources to support research and self-learning. The library is fully automated, promoting efficient and user-friendly access to knowledge. Supporting physical wellness and sportsmanship, our expansive playground and dedicated Physical Education Room facilitate regular practice in athletics, indoor games, and fitness training. Cultural expression is nurtured through our Green Room, Rehearsal Room, and a fully-equipped Auditorium with modern acoustics, while seminars and workshops find a professional platform in our Conference Hall, which hosted over 12 academic and career-oriented events this year. Inclusivity remains at the heart of our design, with Divyangjan-friendly facilities like ramps, elevators, specially designed restrooms, and accessible classrooms ensuring that all students can move and learn freely without barriers. The campus also provides comfortable common rooms for both boys and girls, creating inclusive spaces for rest, discussion, and peer bonding. Health and safety are prioritized through our infirmary, which is staffed and stocked to handle medical emergencies and routine health needs. Students also benefit from our hygienic and student-friendly canteen, which offers nutritious meals and a social space for relaxation between sessions. Every corner of the college infrastructure is aligned with our vision to offer not just education, but an enriching and supportive campus life that fosters all-round development.

The Visionary Helm: GOVERNANCE & LEADERSHIP

Effective governance and visionary leadership at Trinity College, Jalandhar have played a pivotal role in academic excellence and institutional growth. During the year 2024–25, the IQAC conducted structured meetings to review academic quality, leading to improvements in teaching methods, student support, and audit compliance. These discussions aligned with the Governing Body and College Development Committee meetings (held 3) which focused on strategic planning, infrastructure upgrades, and NAAC preparedness. Regular staff meetings (3 conducted) and 2 Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) ensured transparent communication and continuous professional growth for over 39 faculty members. In line with welfare and inclusivity, the college continued offering fee concessions, and professional up skilling programs/ schemes for both teaching and non-teaching staff. These efforts culminated in a successful NAAC peer team visit and completion of 3 academic and administrative audits, reflecting the institution's ongoing commitment to quality, accountability, and participatory leadership.

Institutional Values:

At Trinity College, Jalandhar, institutional values are not just principles—they are practices that shape our identity and purpose. We strive to instill integrity, inclusivity, and social responsibility through every academic and extracurricular initiative. Our students actively engage in community outreach, environmental stewardship, and national service, fostering a strong sense of civic duty. From celebrating national pride on Independence Day to embracing global awareness on Earth Day, we nurture culturally conscious and ethically grounded individuals. Sustainability is championed through green audits, plantation drives, and plastic-free campaigns, making our campus both eco-conscious and value-driven. We celebrated 9 national and international days, such as Independence Day, Constitution Day, International Yoga Day, World Environment Day, instilling patriotism, cultural awareness, and global citizenship among students. As part of our green initiatives, the campus undertook a tree plantation drive with 104 saplings, maintain vermin compost unit, and promoted plastic-free zones through student-led campaigns. These efforts reflect our strong commitment to sustainability, community outreach, and value-based education.

Beyond Boundaries: Community Engagement & Social Responsibility

This year, the college organized 14 extension activities through NSS, NCC, and various student clubs, including blood donation camps, voter awareness drives, and gender sensitization programs, health and medical checkup camps, Aadhaar camp, Langar sewa, door to door awareness sessions, rallies to make the public aware about drug addiction etc. reaching over 1500 community beneficiaries. In a stride towards digital inclusion and rural empowerment, the college proudly adopted Village Madaaraan under its community outreach initiative. Recognizing the pressing need for digital literacy, the institution launched evening computer classes for villagers who had little to no exposure to basic technology. These sessions became more than just lessons

Stellar Performance in Youth Festival organized by GNDU Amritsar

The highlights of their achievements are:

  1. Overall First Runner-up Trophy: Demonstrating overall excellence and outstanding performance.
  2. First Prize in Costume Parade: Showcasing creativity and flair in costume design.
  3. Second Prize in Skit: Exhibiting impressive acting and stage presence.
  4. Second Prize in Mime: Highlighting skillful non-verbal communication.
  5. Second Prize in Mimicry: Displaying remarkable talent in voice modulation and expression.

Hosted International Conference

The college's two-day international conference on "Reforms in Higher Education with Special Reference to New Education Policy" in collaboration with Xavier Board of Higher Education was a significant event. With over 160 academicians, principals, and directors from esteemed institutions across India participating, it was a great platform for sharing insights and best practices. The conversation revolved around higher education reforms introducing flexible undergraduate programs, promoting quality research and innovation and integrating vocational education into mainstream education to enhance employability and prepare students for various professions.

Hosted National Youth Conference

The college hosted The 6th National Youth Conference of the Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) from October 21 to 25, 2024. This conference brought together 653 youth leaders from 132 dioceses across India to explore the theme "The role of Youth in the Synodal Church" with a focus on the virtue of hope. Esteemed religious leaders and lay leaders, including Bishop Ignatius D’Souza, Rev. Dr. Stephen Alathara, and Fr. Cedric Prakash SJ, led the sessions. Various workshops were conducted on topics such as faith and innovation, resilience, social media, and building authentic relationships. The conference featured vibrant cultural performances and an exhibition showcasing the distinct culture and traditions of each region. 104 youth leaders from the Northeast region participated, making it the highest representation from the region.

A leap forward: College earns B++ Grade in NAAC Accreditation

Trinity College Jalandhar successfully completed its NAAC 2nd cycle assessment in the session 2024-25. The NAAC Peer Team visited the college on November 11th and 12th, 2024. It is a testament to the hard work, tireless efforts, dedication, and commitment of our staff and stakeholders, resulting in an upgrade from B to B++ grade. This achievement is a significant milestone, placing Trinity College Jalandhar among the top 2000 accredited colleges in India. This accomplishment reflects the college's relentless pursuit of academic excellence and its commitment to providing high-quality education. We look forward to continued growth and success in the years to come.

25 Years of Divine Calling: A Jubilee Begins

This academic year holds a moment of profound reverence and pride as we celebrate the beginning of the Silver Jubilee of our esteemed Director’s, Rev. Fr. Peter Kavumpuram, priestly journey. With 25 years of unwavering spiritual service, compassionate leadership, and visionary guidance, he has been a beacon of faith and purpose to countless lives. His priesthood has not only enriched the altar but has also illuminated the corridors of our institution with wisdom, humility, and dedication. As we embark on this Jubilee year, the college community joins together in gratitude and joy, honoring a legacy that continues to inspire hearts and shape futures.

Foundations of Progress: Infrastructure Elevation

During the session 2024-25, many major additions have been made:

  1. Christopher John Hall - A state-of-the-art auditorium with a seating capacity of 700 persons.
  2. Upgraded Language Lab - A cutting-edge language proficiency lab equipped with latest hi-tech computer systems with language proficiency software.
  3. ICT enabled Classrooms -added 4 smart classrooms equipped with smart LCD panels to have interactive learning experiences and improved student engagement

Concluding Moments

As we near the finale of this vibrant journey, our hearts are filled with deep gratitude and reverence. I express our sincere appreciation to the visionary leadership of our worthy Management and the dynamic Director of Trinity Group of Institutions, Rev. Fr. Peter Kavumpuram, whose foresight continues to illuminate our path. My profound thanks to Rev. Fr. Binu Joseph, the ever-approachable Assistant Director of Trinity College, for his constant encouragement and presence. I express my indebtedness to Rev. Sr. Rita, Office Incharge and Rev. Sr. Prima, Counsellor of the college, whose guidance have been a silent force behind every smooth operation. I owe a debt of gratitude to all the Heads of Departments whose academic stewardship has added depth to our mission, IQAC team for steering the quality initiatives with dedication and all coordinators who have worked silently behind the scenes, your efforts have made a loud impact. My whole hearted thanks to the Editor, Ms. Prabhjot Kaur for bringing imagination into print and the entire editorial team with all the students who contributed creatively for weaving together a reflection of Trinity’s soul through words and images.
