MOTHER LANGUAGE DAY CELEBRATED IN TRINITY COLLEGE BY FACULTY OF ARTS

A special guest lecture dedicated to International Mother Language Day was organized on February 21, 2024 (Wednesday) at Trinity College, Jalandhar, under the leadership of our worthy Rev. Father Peter, Director, Trinity Group of Institutions. The lecture on “The Significance of Mother Language” was organized by the Punjabi Department. On this occasion, Dr. Surinder Kaur Narula, retired head of the Punjabi Department from PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar was the resource person. She provided very interesting information about the importance of the mother language and everyone should love and respect one’s mother tongue. Principal Dr. Ajay Prashar congratulated everyone on International Mother Language Day and gave the message to all Punjabis to speak, read, and write in Punjabi and take pride in being a Punjabi. He also raised awareness about speaking in one’s mother language within society. Additionally, an international mother language dedicated poster making and quiz competitions were held. Certificates were distributed to the winning students. I extend my heartfelt appreciation for the opportunity to celebrate International Mother Language Day. This event was not only a celebration of linguistic diversity but also a testament to our commitment to cultural understanding and inclusivity.
