Diwali Celebration With The Differently Abled Citizens Of Jalandhar
On October 26, 2019 under the pioneering personality Rev.Fr. Peter, the students of Trinity college celebrated their Diwali Festival with the Differently Abled and the shelterless citizens of Jalandhar very enthusiastically. Well organised programme by the faculty of Arts and the NSS club was commenced with the beautiful prayer song and lighting of the lamps simultaneously. The students decorated college with different rangolies and oil lamps that created the vivid ambience of the Diwali celebration at Trinity college. Diwali is the festival of Light, Love and Faith in one another. On this occasion Asst. Prof. Baljit Kaur wished the students to celebrate the Green Diwali with great happiness. Thereafter the students of the faculty of arts and the NSS club visited the ashram for handicap people at Maqsuddan and the shelterless citizens of the slum area in the outskirts and shared their love and light of Diwali with them. The president of the ashram, in his speech warmly welcomed the students and exhorted them to continue building the society better. After spending some in the ashram the students guided by the teachers visited the poor people in the slum area and through their dialogue with the people students tried to understand their various problems. Instilled with the spirit of nobility, students shared some eatables and clothes with them. At the same time the students of the economic development under the title of ‘The Wall Of Kindness’ distributed some sweets, eatables and clothes to the poor people in the vicinity. Rev. Fr. Sr. Preema, Sr.Rita, Sr. Elseena, Prof. Baljit Kaur, Prof. Puja Gabha, Prof. Nidhi Sharma, Prof. Jessy Julian, Dr. Sunil, Prof. Samriti, the coordinator of the NSS wing Prof. Ashok Kumar, Prof. Karanvir Divedi, Prof. Suresh Lokhande, Prof. Nitu khanna, Prof. Rajinder Kaur, Prof. Parminder Kaur, Prof. Ritu Bala, Prof. Dr. Rekha, Prof. Dr. Sonia, Prof. Manveet Kaur etc. Staff members were present for the celebration.
