THE COAT OF ARMS
The emblem conveys the vision of Trinity College, Jalandhar. The primary goal of education is the enlightenment of the person (Man in white) who aims “Ad Altiora” (Higher Realms) of life (The Motto of the College).
The education provided at Trinity is characterized by an integrated and total growth of the individual, oriented itself towards the Divine (Raised Hand Pointing Upwards) as well as the human (Lowered Hand Pointing Downwards).
The personal excellence aimed by a ‘Trinitarian’ is a reflection and expression of the life of the Blessed Trinity, the Heavenly Patron of the college (The Triangle with Three Sectors), in which the Father as the source of Life (Red), the Son as the Prince of Peace (Green), and the Holy Spirit as the embodiment of Enlightenment (Yellow), keep their self identity while symbolizing a life of unity, collaboration and dedication.
Through information a ‘Trinitarian’ is positively transformed so that he/she contributes his/her might in building a just and fair society centered on the values (Colours of the Rainbow) taught by Jesus Christ (Cross).
OUR MOTTO
(Trinity Towards Higher Realms of Life)
Human life has different dimensions; physical, intellectual, social, spiritual and so on. A person has to place himself evenly in all these spheres of existence if he has to evolve himself into a worthy human being of excellence.
Man, we believe, is from God. The idea that man partakes in the divinity of God is integral to the Indian culture. The Bible also asserts that man is created in the image and likeness of God.(Genesis 1:26)
Therefore, the highest realm that man is capable of attaining is “godliness”. This is the vision of human development that Trinity College, as a centre of higher education, upholds. Here we seek to rise above mundane and materialistic, the meager and mediocre. We must aspire for that “heaven of freedom” which our great Rabindranath Tagore visualized in hymn 35 of Gitanjali.
