7-DAY NSS CAMP AT MADARA VILLAGE BY TRINITY COLLEGE

The NSS Unit of Trinity College, Jalandhar, successfully conducted a transformative seven-day special camp at Madara Village from January 6 to January 12, 2025, under the leadership of Director Rev. Fr. Peter Kavumpuram, Assistant Director Rev. Fr. Anthony Joseph, Principal Dr. Ajay Prashar, and NSS Programme Officer Asst. Prof. Karanvir. With enthusiastic participation from faculty and volunteers, the camp focused on social responsibility through cleanliness drives, awareness programs, and community engagement.

The camp began with an inaugural session at the Panchayat Ghar, followed by a cleanliness drive and an awareness session on NSS. Over the next few days, volunteers undertook various activities, including outdoor cleanliness drives, food preparation, tree trimming, and painting, significantly improving the village’s hygiene and aesthetics. A major highlight was an awareness session on Tuberculosis by Dr. Pradeep Kumar, educating villagers on its prevention and treatment. Volunteers also beautified the Primary School Madara and engaged in interactive discussions on teamwork and communication.

The final day featured a culmination ceremony attended by the village Sarpanch, Principal, and other dignitaries. Cultural performances, inspiring speeches, and a certificate distribution ceremony recognized the volunteers’ efforts, with Amritpal and Ishmeet Kaur awarded Best NSS Volunteers. The event concluded with a vote of thanks and the National Anthem, marking the end of a successful and impactful camp.
