21ST ANNUAL SPORTS MEET 2024-25
On February 15, 2025, the 21st Annual Trinity Sports Competition concluded with unforgettable memories at the Trinity Group of Institutes under the leadership of Rev. Father Peter Ji. The competition took place from February 13 to 15, 2025. All students were divided into four teams: Sher-E-Trinity, Blue Cheetah, Yodhas, and Black Panther.
The three-day event featured various sports, including cricket, football, and volleyball, along with athletic events such as 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m and 3000m races, relay race, shot put, long jump, discus throw, javelin throw,tug of war and Wellness Warrior special event. Students participated with great enthusiasm, showcasing their athletic skills and competitive spirit.
The program was conducted in two sessions. The morning session began at 10:00 AM, with Rev. Father Thomas Keepaerth, Rector of St. Mary’s Cathedral Church, Jalandhar Cantt, as the special guest. The event commenced with devotional music, followed by a march-past in which students from various departments participated. The title of Best March-Past was won by the students of the Senior Secondary Wing. The chief guest, Rev. Father Thomas Keepaerth, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of sports in students’ lives. He stated that sports play a crucial role in maintaining good health, promoting unity, instilling discipline, and ensuring overall development.
The afternoon session began at 3:00 PM, attended by Rev. Bishop Agnelo Rufino Gracious, Administrator of Jalandhar Diocese, along with Rev. Father Subin, Rev. Father John (Vice Rector), and Rev. Father Seminiar, Holy Trinity Regional Major Seminary. Various sports events, including 100m and 200m races, shot put, and long jump, were conducted. The chief guest, Monsignor Father Daniel Gill, congratulated the Trinity Group of Institutes for organizing such sports and cultural competitions. He addressed the players, highlighting the significance of sports in students’ lives and stating that a healthy mind can only thrive in a healthy body.
Winners from different competitions were awarded prizes. Based on overall performance, the Best Athlete Award (Male) was won by John, while the Best Athlete Award (Female) was won by Manpreet. The overall trophy of the competition was won by the Sher-E-Trinity team.
The successful execution of the sports event was made possible by the dedicated contributions of Rev. Father Libin, Rev. Father Joseph as officials, and Rev. Father Jibu Joseph (Assistant Director, TIMT). To encourage student athletes, Rev. Father Peter Ji, Director of the Trinity Group of Institutes, Rev. Father Anthony Joseph, Assistant Director of Trinity College, Rev. Father Jibu Joseph, Assistant Director of Trinity Institute of Management and Technology College, Dr. Ajay Parashar, Principal of Trinity College, Dr. Pooja Gaba, Principal of TIMT, Rev. Sister Rita, Rev. Sister Prema, Rev. Sister Elsina, Student Welfare, Head of the Sports Department and Competition Coordinator Assistant Professor Karanveer Dwivedi, Assistant Professor Sania, Mr. Jatin, and the entire faculty were present. Dr. Malkiat Singh and Assistant Professor Tanya and Nandita mam beautifully and efficiently conducted stage coordination and commentary.
The event concluded with the national anthem, leaving behind cherished memories for all participants and attendees.
