NATIONAL SEMINAR/CONFERENCES/WORKSHOP/SYMPOSIUM
1.ENTREPRENEURSHIP AWARENESS CAMP
Post Graduate Department of Commerce conducted three days Entrepreneurship awareness camp from 6 to 8 September 2017 in the college campus , sponsored by DST-NIMAT Project and Entrepreneurship Development Institute Of India ,Ahmadabad .The director of the seminar was Asst. Prof. Puja Gaba.
Day 1 – Inauguration was conducted by Rev, Fr. Jibin, Asst.Director of the College, Mr. Ajay Prashar officiating Principal and Mr.Risheb Gupta C.E. O of Times Academy, Jalandhar and Amritsar
Technical session was taken by Mr. Risheb Gupta and Mr. M.J. Kalra on 1st day .
Day 2 camp provided the students exposure to practical working of an industry. Students visited Shital Industries: export house of blankets located in Jalandhar. After the industrial visit students were enlightened by Mrs. Palki, the branch manager South India Bank.
Day 3 Technical session was graced by Dr. Ashish Arora, Associate Professor GNDU Jalandhar.Rev. Fr.Peter ,Director of the College, and Rev. Fr. Jose Palakuzha /Director of St.Jude Convent School, Nakoder honoured the participants with certificates in velidictory Ceremony.
2. A STUDY OF MANUSCRIPTS:PUNJABI LITERATURE AND HISTORY
Punjabi Department conducted three days National seminar from 7-9 December 2017 on ‘ A Study of Manuscripts:Punjabi Literature and History’. The Director of the seminar was Asst. Prof. Ashok Kumar, convener Asst. Prof.Baljeet Kaur and Co-convener Asst. Prof. Malkiat Singh. The seminar was conducted on behalf of ‘National Mission for Manuscripts’ New Delhi. The Guests of Honour are Mr. Parveen Sinha(Police Commissioner), Jalandhar, ,Mrs.Sarvinder Kaur, C.E.O. of Ajit newspaper group and Sh. Santokh Singh Chaudary M.P. Jalandhar and also Dr. Gurpal Sigh Sandhu, Department of evening study Multi Disciplinary Research Punjab University, Chandigarh, Dr. Manjinder Singh, School of Punjabi Study, GNDU, Amritsar, Dr.Sarbjeet Singh, I.K. Gujral PTU, Kapurthala, Dr. (Mrs.)Savinder Pal, Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd, Ludhiana, Dr. Kirandeep Singh,School of Arts and Languages, LPU, Punjab. The keynote speaker was Dr. Raj Kumar Hans, The Maharaja Sayajirao, University of Baroda.
3. WORKSHOP ON RESEARCH PAPER PREPARATIONS
The Research Cell organized a one day Workshop on “Research Paper Preparations” on December 16, 2017 at Bishop Symphoriyan Hall at 10.00 am. The Resource Person was Mr. Lokesh Jasrai Asst. Prof. Mittal School of Business, Lovely Professional University Jalandhar. The core objective of the workshop was to provide knowledge about the different aspects of the research.
4. NATIONAL SEMINAR ON SOCIAL AND ETHICAL ISSUES IN INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY
One day National seminar on the topic “ Social and Ethical Issues in Information and Communication Technology” was conducted on 25th March 2017. The Co-ordinator of the seminar was Asst. Prof. Ajay Prashar, Seminar director Asst. Prof. Puja Gaba, Convener Asst. Prof. Jessy Julian and Co-convener Asst. Prof. Daljeet Kaur. The seminar was sponsored by Indian Council of Social Science Research, North-Western Regional Centre, Chandigarh.The seminar was about the rapidly changing technological environment, the explosive growth of ICT and the use of IT and its impact on the society. The keynote speaker of the seminar was Dr. Kawaljeet Singh, Director, University Computer Centre,Punjab University, Patiala. Chairperson for Technical sessionI was Dr. Dharminder Kumar, Professor, Department of Computer science & Engineering, Guru Jambeshwar University, Haryana. Chairperson for Technical Session II was Dr. Nischay Bahl, Associate Professor & HOD Department of computer science , DAV College Jalandhar and Co-Chairperson Dr. Deep Kamal Kaur Asst. Prof. Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering GNDU Regional Campus , Jalandhar.
